I would like to thank everyone who attended. Your donations were greatly appreciated. Everyone had a great time. We had fantastic prizes, which were donated by many vendors. Again, we were fortunate to have great weather. We had last year’s champions return to defend their title, Lesley Scudder for the women and Tony Garziano for the men. All would make for a great competition!

The men’s competition started off with Bobby from “Team Dawg”. Bobby was not able to stay, but wanted to come down and help. Bobby hit (4) out to start the first round. Pat McAdoo, a newcomer, quickly advanced to the next round. Matt Siberman, Ed Bartnik, who donated the year before, but could not play, also advanced. Evan Winkler, Brian Howard, Jesse Delcolle, Brian Algerio and Scott Ward quickly advanced. Last years champ, Tony Garziano struggled, but advanced, so did returnee Dave Williams. Jim McLaren, Rob Rafaniello, Dan Deriezis, Billy Griffin and I came close, but to no avail. Louis Ohle, who brought down most of the people really gave a great effort, but did not advance. Then we got a treat, Vin Causeman knocked out (23) in the first round. What a show!

The women’s competition was great! Lesley Scudder, last years champ would advance. Colleen Kudlik, a newcomer gave a great effort! Her sister, Chris came oh so close! The competition would end up coming down to these two contestants, Colleen Howard and Michelle Ward.

The men’s competition moved along quickly. Pat McAdoo made the competition closer, but could not catch up. Tony Garziano tried to defend his championship, but nobody could overcome the great start by Vin Causemen, who won the competition.

Lesley Scudder put up a great effort but Colleen Howard and Michelle Ward went down to the last pitch! Michelle Ward (14) edged out Colleen Howard (13) in a very exciting final round.

Thanks to everyone for a great competition! Congratulations to our new champs, Michelle Ward and Vin Causeman. Great job by all! See you at next year’s competition, to be held Saturday, August 26, 2006.
